We are on the hunt for a mid level QA Engineer with a background in automated testing to join our crew as we continue to grow globally. While we are proud of what we’ve been able to achieve with our platform thus far, we want to push ourselves and improve our quality assurance and delivery processes as we put our offering in front of millions of more people.

We are in a growth phase and this will be the first dedicated QA role in our team. We’re looking for a QA engineer to drive and improve our current processes, implement tools and systems and provide leadership to our broader engineering and product teams on QA best practice. We’re looking for someone passionate about the role QA and DevOps plays in supporting and building great products that delight customers.

As a company, Amber is in the midst of transitioning from start-up to scale-up and we are fortunate to have a great team of financial backers including Mark Yusko and Anthony Pompliano with Morgan Creek Digital and QUT (Queensland University of Technology) Bluebox.

Our team is driven by a passion for creating solutions that make Bitcoin more accessible and we are hoping to find a QA Engineer to join our quest. 

The role:

At a high level we are looking for a QA Engineer who would relish the opportunity to:

  • Establish and lead a robust QA culture in our growing team
  • Partner with our Engineering and Product teams to empower them to deliver consistently and to a high standard.
  • Continually grow and nurture our systems and processes as we expand our product offerings and team.

Day to day this will entail the following responsibilities:

QA Leadership

  • Leading and developing the QA practices within the team
  • Planning and deploying resources for QA activities
  • Working with the development team to design an optimal QA environment for each software build
  • Analysing and enhancing the QA methodology to deliver more efficient QA processes
  • Ensuring timely completion and deployment of software projects
  • Researching and presenting new methodologies and software testing practices for implementation
  • Testing, demoing, and inspecting software readiness pre-deployment
  • Conducting scenario tests to determine the stability of automation under stress
  • Ensuring compliance with in-house QA guidelines and relevant legislation related to data use and protection

QA Automation

  • Designing and deploying automated testing solutions
  • Identifying and analysing bugs and proposing solutions
  • Collaborating with others in the product, development team to deliver comprehensive automation solutions
  • Managing execution plans for automation testing based on the type and intended use
  • Ensuring compliance with QA guidelines and relevant legislation related to data use and protection
  • Identifying automation processes that could lead to performance issues with other apps and software.

QA Rituals and Processes

  • Developing, tracking, and improving QA metrics.
  • Estimating, prioritising, planning, and coordinating all QA activity
  • Designing and deploying testing processes
  • Developing, tracking, and improve QA metrics
  • Creating a plan and processes for release management
  • Monitoring feedback and QA outcomes

As champion and custodian of this important pillar of the business you will have the opportunity to work closely with all other business functions to shape and guide the company as whole. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Current experience as a QA Engineer, DevOps or related 
  • Experience with regression and automated testing
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Experience leading and influencing teams towards great QA practices 
  • Experience with the following technologies and platforms:
  • AWS
  • Appium
  • Kobiton (Nice to have)
